Hand-Building Basics: Craft & Choose
Unleash your creativity at Fire Gallery Pottery Studio!
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to get your hands dirty, this hands-on workshop is the perfect introduction to the art of clay.
In this relaxed session, you’ll learn fundamental hand-building techniques as you craft your very own small ceramic creation—such as a personalized mug, a shallow dish, or a hand-formed flowerpot. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through shaping, texturing, and prepping your piece for firing.
What’s Included:
- All Materials & Firing: Clay, tools, and the final firing/glazing of your hand-made piece are all included.
- Take Home a Piece from the Gallery: As a special limited time bonus, every participant gets to select a small, handcrafted original artwork created by the studio artist to take home that day!

This is a first time introduction to pottery throwing with the pottery wheel and clay. Learn to use the pottery wheel, center clay and make a bowl, cup or plate. We will be making a couple of piece of pottery like a cup and bowl. When done you can keep the one you like the best and come back in a week to paint it. We will hold the piece for a month for your convience, after that the piece will be recycled for another class. $60 Per Person.
BYOB – Glasses provided.
One Time Wheel Classes are for ages 21 and up. Try your hand at the pottery wheel. Under instruction by a staff member, you can make a bowl, cup or plate. This is a great way to get together with a few friends and have a blast. BYOB – Must be willing to share.
Before you get here:
- Long hair should be put up or back
- No jewelry on fingers or wrists
- Long Fingernails are not a Potters’ Friend
- Long necklaces will get tangled in the clay
- Wear clothes, including shoes, that can get dirty
- Everything washes out

Come back to glaze your work of art with in a week. One month max before work is recycled to another class.
