Upcoming Events and Announcements

Dear reader,

We’re stepping into July with fresh work out of the kiln and great energy from recent workshops. The latest soda firing gave us a wide range of beautiful surfaces, and our candle-making session brought members together for a creative and cozy evening.

We hope you will join us for our next soda firing on July 12th, 2025! Chat with Leroy and the firing team about how you can get involved! Also don't miss out on Sunday morning Raku on July 13th.

Scroll down for highlights from the kiln, photos from the studio, and upcoming ways to get involved.

July Soda Firing: Kiln Opening Highlights

We recently unloaded our latest soda firing, and we’re excited to share a look at the results. It was a hot one, so a huge thank you to the firing team that pulled it off! This firing brought a strong mix of surfaces, with both subtle textures and bold glaze effects coming through across the kiln shelves.

Ash and glaze ran ran down bowls, forming deep reds and areas of crystal growth; the kiln atmosphere delivered a wide range of finishes. Some pieces were heavily flashed near the flame path, while others came out with soft, muted tones from more sheltered spots.

July Member Challenge: Altered Forms

This month, we’re challenging you to break the mold, literally. Start with a thrown or handbuilt form, then alter it: stretch it, cut it, paddle it, facet it, dart it, or reshape it in any way that pushes the form beyond its starting point.

Whether you’re experimenting with oval serving dishes, squared mugs, or faceted vases, this is a chance to play with form, volume, and gesture. Think of it as a way to loosen up and explore how clay responds to being moved.
About Our One Time Wheel Classes

First time introduction to pottery throwing with the pottery wheel and clay. Learn to use the pottery wheel, center clay and make a bowl, cup or plate. We will have about two hours to play with clay making a couple of piece of pottery like a cup and bowl. BYOB.

Join our beginner’s class and learn the basics of borosilicate glasswork while making a mushroom pendant to take home. This workshop results in a stunning wearable piece that's both unique and eye-catching.
