Hey Fire Gallery Student and Resident members,
We are thrilled to announce that Sawyer Clay Collective will be showcasing our artistry at the 2023 Greek Festival, hosted at the Annunciation Orthodox Church located at the corner of Yoakum and Montrose Blvd, from October 5th to 7th.
We were very lucky to be invited to participate in this festival which has been running for over 30 years. I am excited that we have such a great group of artists/makers who will be presenting their work and manning the booth during the open hours. The Festival expects around 25,000 visitors over the 2&1/2 day festival of which many are expected to visit the hall where the marketplace will be set up.

Discover Exciting Ceramic Learning Opportunities in Australia!
Hi, Fire Gallery members and newsletter subscribers,
As in the USA, the interest in making wheel and hand-built pottery is booming in Australia. Visiting makers would find it easy to connect with artists with similar interests through the ceramics community network fostered by the Australian Ceramics Association https://australianceramics.com/.
Here are some fantastic ceramic hubs across Australia that you won't want to miss. I am also including the link to SideStoke which has some great information - about Arthur and Carol Rosser who were integral to the development of wood firing in Australia:
1. Jam Factory - Adelaide, South Australia
2. Strathnairn - Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
3. Sturt - Southern Highlands, New South Wales
4. Quixotica / The Butter Factory - Cooroy, Queensland
5. Slow Clay - Melbourne, Victoria
6. Waldies - Snug, Tasmania
7. SideStoke - Arthur Rosser
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about these amazing facilities or your visit to Australia.
